Live music arrives at Rex Theatre in Thompson Falls
THOMPSON FALLS- The Rex Theatre in Thompson Falls played host to a live music performance on Saturday as the facility was packed to capacity to support a venue that was recently in danger of falling into obscurity. Organizer Randy Roberts helped set up the event as a way to continue utilizing the building.

Despite wet conditions, fire danger still high
Despite recent rain and cooler temperatures that provided an opportunity for local fire fighters to make solid progress containing and controlling most fires in west central Montana, wildland fire agencies continue to respond to human-caused fires, and caution the public that the recent cool weather only provided short-term relief. Today, fire officials lowered the fire danger only slightly: from EXTREME to VERY HIGH. The fire danger rating is largely determined by current and expected weather conditions and how those conditions affect the expected intensity of fires that start.

PARADISE – The 10th annual Montana Baroque Music Festival hit Quinn’s Hot Springs Resort and brought in record numbers.

Fire danger reaches extreme conditions
SANDERS COUNTY- With the official fire danger level set to “extreme,” emergency services throughout Sanders County are on high alert and taking additional measures to respond in the case of a wildfire. At the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation facility in Plains, two helicopters were on stand-by last week to respond should the need arise.

Annual Chicken Jamboree dishes out the goods
Around 200 Sanders County residents came out to the Pennsylvania Power Park in Thompson Falls on Saturday to consume over 350 pounds of barbecue chicken during the annual Chicken Jamboree. The event was sponsored by the non-denominational Men’s Prayer Breakfast Group from Thompson Falls.

Plains golf course to undergo a facelift
PLAINS- Plans are underway to upgrade the facilities at the Plains Golf Course over the next several months. Repairs to the clubhouse, the course itself and a proposal to establish a recreational vehicle park at the site are all moving forward with a tremendous amount of help from local residents.

Pat's Knob repairs are a success
According to Sanders County Sheriff Department Radio Technician Cody Best, the damage to communication equipment on Pat’s Knob sustained during a winter storm earlier in the year has been repaired. Sanders County Emergency Services had been relying on a back-up system for several months before the damaged equipment could be replaced.
