The Clark Fork Mountain Cats Superior/Alberton co-op had three place-winners at the Owen Invitational wrestling tournament held at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo last weekend, hosted by Polson High School on Friday and Saturday. Medals were awarded to the top six in each class. Overall, the Mountain Cats came in 15th in the 20-team field.

A new display from the Brain Injury Alliance of Montana is featured in the lobby of the Mineral Community Hospital in Superior. The display contains five across rows of different masks painted by brain injury survivors. Some are colorful and artistic, some are dark and grim, and all tell the story of a traumatic brain injury survivor.

An early evening call received by Mineral County dispatch on Friday, March 17, ended in tragedy. The body of Debra Ann Koziel was found by a search team on the following Tuesday afternoon. Her death was determined to be the result of exposure to the weather.

Gas prices jump more than 6 percent in Montana

Mineral County residents have seen a jump in the price of gas over the past few weeks, with current prices hovering around $1.98 per gallon. According to industry reports, oil prices rose more than 6 percent on Friday, April 8 to end with the biggest weekly gain in a month as drawdowns in U.S. crude stockpiles fed hopes that a punishing global oversupply may be approaching a tipping point after nearly two years.
