Bill Merriman of Superior had a warm reception when around 37 friends and family members surprised him with a 90th birthday party at Whipped Up! in Superior. His party was on Oct. 5 to celebrate his birthday, which was on Oct. 9, and in addition to cake and ice cream they enjoyed their choice of a chicken or roast beef dinner.

Christmas on Main Street to hit Thompson Falls

UPDATES: Thompson Falls' Christmas on Main Street parade as well as the Christmas Concert at the Rex Theatre has been postponed until Wednesday due to the cold, harsh weather. The parade will now take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11 and the musical performances will be at 5:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. the same day.

PLAINS – Trotter volleyball fans were left disappointed Saturday in a straight set loss to the Bigfork Valkyries 19-25, 23-25, 18-25 despite a valiant effort. The Trotters were brought down by errors that allowed for early leads in each set by Bigfork, though the team never gave up and continued to play hard throughout each set.
