Panthers prepare to hit the track in spring meets
The last chance to sign up for healthcare is approaching fast
Procrastinators! It’s time. The March 31st deadline to sign up for health insurance is coming up fast. This is the last chance this year for uninsured individuals to purchase individual insurance. If you are uninsured, visit www.healthcare.gov today. There you can apply for coverage and likely receive tax credits to help you buy insurance. Enrollment help is also available at Mineral Regional Health Center.

As the fires continue, the smoke is thickening within the county; not just from the active fires within, but also from fires burning in Washington and Oregon.

Boaters must stop at aquatic invasive species stations
With summer recreation in full swing, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks wardens remind watercraft users that they must stop every time they pass an aquatic invasive species (AIS) inspection station, even if they have previously been inspected. If, for example, a person goes through an inspection station at 7 a.m. and receives a copy of the watercraft inspection form, and then drives past the same inspection station at 2 p.m. on their way home, they need to stop again.

National Bison Range switches to winter hours
With the weather change from the heat of summer to the crisp cold of winter, wildlife behavior also changes. One no longer needs to be up at the crack of dawn to catch sight of deer or elk. Except during storms, animals will be up and about at any time throughout the short winter days. So it is a great time to visit your favorite National Wildlife Refuge, such as the National Bison Range in Moiese.
