2/13/11 2:29 a.m.  - A resident on Buffalo Meadows Lane said that he woke up to a revving engine, and when he went outside he saw a red Honda stuck in the ditch.  The man offered to help pull the male driver out, but could see he was highly intoxicated.  The driver was yelling at the responding man and told him he was going to burn his garage down later.

Eric Bryce, of Missoula, a Plains resident for more than 60 years, passed away in Missoula on Sept. 5. Until his retirement, Eric was a partner in the Flodin Lumber Company with his uncles, Swan and Walter Flodin, and his brother Millar Bryce.

Truck spills 44,000 pounds of chickpeas

Last Thursday a truck driver tried to miss a herd of elk and wrecked his truck, which overturned and spilled 44,000 pounds of garbanzo beans along Interstate 90. The early morning accident occurred west of St. Regis, near mile marker 26.

FWP seeks applicants for Region One CAC

SANDERS COUNTY - Over the past month, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) has solicited for volunteer applicants to fill four slots on the Region One Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC is in its 19th year and was established to provide input and guidance to FWP from the public. This is a general advisory committee that works with FWP on all issues and programs. The Committee is advisory in nature and does not have decision-making responsibilities.
