Sanders County Fair Commission meeting

On Wednesday, Feb. 15 the Sanders County Fair Commission held their monthly meeting to discuss the last meeting, non-agenda items, old business, new business, and the current financial situation. Present for the meeting were; Fair Manager Dede Steinbach, Vice Chairman Jenny Garrison, Chairman Chris A. McGuigan, Wade Rehbein, Secretary Ruth Hamilton, Jim Newman. Roberta Smith was not present for the meeting.

In St. Regis the Tigers faced the Noxon Red Devils with a set of loses. The girls lost in a close game, 34-29. The Tigers held the lead at the half, 15-13. But the Red Devils bounced back in the third quarter putting in an extra bucket with the teams tied at 23-23. In the fourth quarter the Tigers dropped back and Noxon gained another 11 points to 6 for the win.

Drug task force makes presentation at Chief's Briefing luncheon

Flathead Valley Chemical Dependency Clinic (FVCDC) and the Sanders County DUI Task Force held a Chief’s Briefing luncheon April 7 at the Plains-Paradise Senior Center to recognize and show their appreciation to local law enforcement officers for the work they do on helping keep alcohol and drugs away from children in Sanders and Mineral counties.

On Friday night, the Cats faced the Pirates in Victor with a pair of victories. The boy’s varsity won of 55-50 and the girls won 44-34. The Pirates led at the half with 28-24 but the score was tied by the end of the third quarter, 41-41. In the fourth quarter, the Cats pounded back and managed to put 14 points on the board to the Pirates 9 for the win.

Last week it was boots and chaps, and cowboys hats as Mineral County residents attended the fair. This week it is cleats, tennis shoes, pads and helmets. As high school athletes take to the field and court to start football and volleyball practice.

HOT SPRINGS – The Savage Heat defeated Seeley-Swan in a scrappy nail-biter Saturday night. It was a close game with both teams tied at 43-43 going into the 4th quarter. Hot Springs managed to pull away with a final score of 54-48.
