Clark Fork teams lose to Seeley-Swan, Arlee
The Clark Fork Mountain Cats squared off against Seeley-Swan on Friday, Dec. 18, with Seeley-Swan overtaking Clark Fork in both the girls and boys basketball games. The girls lost 53-30 and the boys 43-39.
Arlee Charges over Clark Fork
The Clark Fork Mountain Cats played the Arlee Warriors on Saturday, Dec. 19, in Arlee. Both the Clark Fork Mountain Cats boys and the girls basketball teams lost by a wide margin — the boys 76-29 and the girls 54-26.

Superior Bobcat Wrestling will start with a tournament in Polson, this Saturday, December 5. The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. and runs all day. This will be the first meet for the Bobcats. Their next tournament will take place in Superior on their home mats. That event will take place December 10 and 11.

Herman E. Whisennand
Herman E. Whisennand, 101, of Plains passed away peacefully in his sleep October 14th 2015 at Clark Fork Valley Long Term Care. He was born to Charlie and Arabelle Whisennand on July 13, 1914 in Cando, North Dakota. When Herman was 7 years old the family settled near Nashua, Montana. During the building of the Fort Peck Dam Herman’s family started the boomtown of New Deal for the workers of the project. After the dam was finished New Deal closed down and Herman’s family moved to Fairfield, Montana to open up a Gambles store. In Fairfield Herman met Catherine Bredenbroker and they were married July 21, 1940. Herman and Catherine were married 65 years and had 5 children. After living in Portland, OR and Great Falls, MT the family settled in Plains in 1953.
