The Plains-Hot Springs softball team will experience two early tests as their team prepares to start the 2018 season playing Thompson Falls and the MHSA Class B-C defending state champions Florence in the first week of the season.

Struggling families in Sanders County now have another tool to help them during stressful times and crisis, Western Montana Mental Health has begun a new family support program to aid families in need.

Thompson Falls took a break from facing Class B teams last week, taking on a pair of Class C squads and posting victories in both contests.
MCSO to begin school resource officer program
In the past, several deputies with the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office have tried to start a School Resource Officer program, however with limited staff and funding it was a challenge to have an officer working solely with the three schools in Mineral County.

It was like old home week for the Thompson Falls girls basketball team this past week at the Western B Divisional tournament at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo.
Avista invests $100,000 in Montana Community Foundation this month
SPOKANE, Wash. Oct. 23, 2009: Continuing a legacy of community partnership, Avista has announced a significant investment to benefit the communities of Montana. The $100,000 investment in the Montana Community Foundation will establish the Avista Fund, which will provide grants to non-profit organizations to support programs that strengthen communities and enhance the quality of life for the people of Montana, including Sanders County.
