Summer hours at the National Bison Range
National Bison Range wtiched to 15 hour days last week
Come Memorial Day weekend, the National Bison Range changed to its longer summer hours of operation. Starting Saturday, May 29, 2010, the Refuge will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Visitors should remember that they will need to start Red Sleep Mountain Drive no later than 7 p.m. to be finished before the main gates close (this closing time is 6 p.m. until May 29). The Refuge is closed at night to all public use.

A warning against underage drinking
I have served this community for 14 years and I have been privileged to be a part of the lives of many of the residents of our county in some manner, often at one of the darkest times in your life. I serve as the general surgeon at Clark Fork Valley Hospital and cover trauma services at St. Pat’s on a regular basis. I have been witness to many tragedies that are overtly related to alcohol in our community and I feel I have some authority to weigh in on the conversation we have been engaged in this past summer.
