ST. REGIS – The Lady Tigers of St. Regis took a straight set victory against the Two Eagle River Lady Eagles during Thursday’s game in St. Regis.

Air quality rated unhealthy near Sunrise Fire
The valleys of Mineral County have seen increased smoke as the Sunrise and Burdette fire continue to grow east of Superior. Air monitoring stations have been set up in Superior and the Quartz Creek Campground with links to the inciweb.com online page. According to the Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program, there were periods of thick and some poor visibility along Interstate -90 last week. Also periods of unhealthy conditions in Superior and Quartz Creek areas. Other areas including Alberton and St. Regis were experiencing hazy conditions with reports of moderate air quality.
St. Regis seventh-grader wins county spelling bee
On Feb.28, local students gathered at the St. Regis gymnasium to flex their letter arranging skills during the 2022 Mineral County Spelling Bee.

St. Regis FFA teams place in top 15 at John Deere Ag Expo
The St. Regis FFA (Future Farmers of America) had three teams place in the top 15 at the John Deere Ag Expo in Bozeman. The Expo was held at the Montana State University Campus on Nov. 9-11 and approximately 1,500 FFA members came from around the state.

St. Regis held Senior Night during the Oct. 17 volleyball match against Noxon. Three seniors were escorted onto the floor that evening — McKenzie Stortz and Emma Hill for volleyball, and J.D. Booker for football.

On Wednesday, Dec. 7, St. Regis student awoke to a surprise: school was cancelled for the day due to a propane issue. School Superintendent Joe Steele sent out an email that stated that the propane to the building had been shut off.

Suspect apprehended after stand-off near St. Regis
Montana Highway Patrol apprehended a suspect about three miles east of St. Regis following a vehicle pursuit Sunday, June 16 at around 8 p.m., according to Montana Highway Sgt. Shawn Smalley.
