Plains track team competes at districts

PLAINS - The Trotters of Plains won yet another meet, this time it was the district meet in Eureka with a score of 195 on May 11. The Plains girls track and field team easily defeated the runner up Big fork with a score 131.

FWP Region One seeks applicants for Citizen Advisory Committee

REGION ONE - Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) is seeking volunteer applicants to fill four slots on the Region One Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC).  The CAC is in its 19th year and was established to provide input and guidance to FWP from the public.  This is a general advisory committee that works with FWP on all issues and programs.

Plains students help spread Christmas cheer

Students from Plains High School art classes scattered around town last week to paint a bit of Christmas cheer on local shop windows. A number of their art creations can be seen throughout the town. The week prior the local Lions Club helped hang holiday lights and decorations in town.

HOT SPRINGS - Tuesday night marked the tenth meeting Hot Springs residents have had in the Public Library to start combating what they see as a prevalent meth/drug problem in the area.

Open burning season in Sanders and Mineral counties officially ends April 30, and burn permits will be required until fire season begins.

The Mineral County Commissioners approved the Emergency Operations Plan, which was prepared for the county commissioners as well as the Town of Alberton and the Town of Superior. The plan was prepared by the Mineral County Disaster and Emergency Services (DES) as well as the Mineral County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).
