Keeping in touch with Rep. Pat Ingraham
Last week, the House Select Committee on Redistricting that I served on had their last meeting and took executive action on House Resolution 2. This bill will go the House Floor this week to be voted one, and then will be forwarded on to the Redistricting and Reapportionment Commission for their consideration on whether they accept the recommended changes. The Senate will send their own Resolution for changes on to the Commission for their consideration.

Keeping in touch with Rep. Pat Ingraham
This past week, House Resolution 2 (HR 2) on Redistricting passed the House and was forwarded on to the Redistricting and Reapportionment Commission for their consideration. The Commission will deliberate on February 12, 2013 to determine if any changes will be made to their proposed plan. However, House District (HD) 13 will remain as originally planned and will be comprised of Heron, Noxon, Whitepine, Trout Creek, Thompson Falls, Marion and Kila. My amendment to request a change to HD 13 was amended out of HR 2.

Better public land management is possible; An update from Sen. Fielder
People who prefer federal control are trying to convince everyone that Montanans would sell all the public lands if we are put in charge of them. No chance. Popularity for transferring control of federal public lands to the state is growing because of the inability of the federal government to manage these lands, or much of anything else, responsibly.

After the Gold Rush
In 1931, fifty years after a gold rush brought over 10,000 fortune seekers to the Cedar Creek area of Superior, Gus and Fern Gildersleeve began building their mine on land near the original claims. What began as Depression-era subsistence mining has blossomed into one family's legacy of mining for four generations in Superior.

Charles E. "Chuckie" Clinkenbeard
Charles E. “Chuckie” Clinkenbeard passed away in the loving arms of his friends and family on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at St. Patrick Hospital, due to complications from sepsis. Chuckie lived and loved in a way that made everyone he came in contact with feel blessed. The impact he had on those around him was immeasurable. He was not the kind of man to tell you what you wanted to hear, but what you needed to hear, yet in a way that left no sting because it was always backed by love. He was generous with his worldly belongings and his love, but most of all, he was generous with his time. Despite suffering enormous medical challenges, he never complained or felt sorry for himself. Instead, he focused on what he could do for others. This world was a better place with him in it.
