PLAINS- Young swimmers took to the water over the weekend as Plains played host to the annual swim meet at the EL Johnson Memorial Pool. Hundreds of swimmers, coaches and parents descended on the facility to cheer on their teams in the first meet of the season.

Controversy over walleye continues

Fishermen, biologists, and concerned citizens gathered on Tuesday at the Thompson Falls Rural Fire Department headquarters to meet with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials to discuss an environmental assessment released by the FWP regarding the walleye population in Noxon Reservoir. The public meeting was called by the FWP to inform the public about the proposal which would aim to reduce the numbers of walleye in the reservoir.

What is really going on with the pool?  I think it would be fair to let the town of Plains, MT know exactly we’re up against with the closing of the community pool.  There are so many stories going around; Mayor Brinson needs to make a true statement to the paper.
