Superior golf moves on
ST. REGIS – St. Regis Golf ended their 2014 season on May 1, playing host to nine other teams at the Trestle Creek Golf Course.

PLAINS – Boys and girls hustled from one side of the pitch to the other as Plains Youth Soccer held its first home match of the year against the youth squad from St. Regis.

ST. REGIS – The St. Regis Lady Tigers met with success during the regional tournament last week, advancing to the next stage of the competition.

There will be a Montana Hunter Education Classroom Course held in Alberton on starting on March 28 for five days. Class will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the school. Registration is currently open at register-ed.com.
Two Mineral County girls basketball teams place second in Class C district basketball
On Monday, Feb. 20, both the Lady Clark Fork Mountain Cats, and the Lady St. Regis Tigers played district challenge games and won second place, each earning a spot in divisionals as a result.

Alberton and St. Regis play epic game
ST. REGIS – The St. Regis Tigers took on the Alberton Panthers in a much anticipated cross county rematch on Friday, Sept. 19 during the Tiger’s homecoming celebration.

In Class C volleyball action, Sorren Reese had 15 assists and nine aces, and Emmah Baughman contributed 13 kills as the Clark Fork Mountain Cats swept Lincoln, 25-21, 25-23, 25-18.
Woman dies in motorcyle accident near St. Regis
A 54 year-old woman died in a motorcycle crash near St. Regis last Wednesday, June 6 near mile marker 27. She was traveling in the westbound lane and around 3:15 p.m. she lost control of her motorcycle and crashed into the guardrail. Though the unidentified woman was wearing a helmet, she died from her injuries.

Several truck accidents continue to hit I90 due to hazardous conditions
The Montana Highway Patrol reported 34 incidents between Feb. 26 and Mar.5, as snow and icy conditions continue to sweep down Interstate 90 in Mineral County. Several incidents occurred on Sunday, Feb. 26, and on Saturday, Mar. 4 where higher elevations were hit with heavy snow fall. Especially hazardous conditions were reported on Lookout Pass.

“The wheels on the bus go ‘round and ‘round,” is a favorite children’s song but those wheels have stopped for Bernie Patterson. After 43 years, St. Regis School’s assistant transportation director, bus driver and former teacher, has retired.
St. Regis School weight room open to the public
Over the summer, St. Regis School converted the old bus barn into a weight room which is available for community use. It comes complete with weights, tread machines and exercise bikes. Todd Fischer will be the facility manager and the hours will be 6:45 to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.

St. Regis to host volleyball camp
It's the middle of summer and the last thing on one's mind may be the upcoming volleyball season this fall, but for St. Regis Coach Janelle Pruitt spiking diving and hitting balls is at the forefront of her mind. Next week, July 5 through the 8, she's conducting a volleyball camp for girls aged fifth through eighth grade that attend and will play for St. Regis in the fall.

Savage Heat sear St. Regis
HOT SPRINGS – The Savage Heat had their two final games of the regular season last week. They hosted the St. Regis Tigers Tuesday night which also happened to be Senior Night. Jarod White and Jimmy Holland received balloons and praise from the crowd for their high school achievements.
