Unique Emporium to close doors for good in April
PLAINS- Raylene Katana loves antiques and she loves Montana. It would seem strange at first then to learn that she is leaving them both behind for the sunny shores of southern California. Raylene is closing her second hand collectible shop, the Unique Emporium in Plains, and is moving to San Diego to be closer to family.

Remembering Angie: A light that shown throughout the community
Saturday afternoon I checked my Facebook page and stared in disbelief at the posts on my news feed. Posts that sent love and prayers to the friends and family of Angela Gardner. Posts that expressed the sadness of the entire community for the loss of a key source of brightness in our lives.

Defense Wins Championships
The old adage of “defense wins championships” was alive and well in Superior this week, as the boys basketball team kept the defensive pressure on both Noxon and St. Regis to win two critical games capping off a 31-5 regular season.
Upcoming pesticide training and certification courses
In Montana, the State Department of Agriculture issues private pesticide applicator’s licenses for people interested in purchasing and applying restricted-use pesticides to property they rent, own or lease; or applying general-use pesticides on lands of their immediate neighbors. Pesticide is a collective term including herbicides, insecticides and rodenticides. MSU Extension coordinates the educational component of the licensing process. Commonly applied restricted use products include the herbicide Tordon 22k and strychnine baits used for northern pocket gopher control.
