FOOD FOR THOUGHT: internet dating
In 1727, Helen Morrison, a lonely spinster in Manchester, England, placed the first lonely hearts personal, advertising for a husband in the local weekly newspaper. In response, the town mayor committed her to a lunatic asylum for a month. But in hindsight, Helen Morrison was a pioneer. That’s kind of a chicken or the egg question I guess. It seems to me that while the parties do have basic lofty tenets about how to legislate for the greater benefit of mankind it feels more and more those beliefs are just window dressing and that the party bosses know what they want and do their best to convince the voters that what is good for the party is good for the people. That is; they cultivate votes.

That David Thompson built Saleesh House on the north side of the river he referred to as the Saleesh is supported by his own journal notations, by the journals of other travelers through the area during the first half of the 19th century and by period maps.

Wildland fires a possibility this year
