Arlee hands Horsemen first loss of season
The Plains High School Gym was full to capacity Friday evening as the the second-ranked Arlee Warriors came to town to face the top-ranked and undefeated Horsemen in one of the most anticipated Class C basketball matchups of the season. The teams fought a close battle in the first half before Arlee pulled away in the third quarter and went on to hand the Horsemen their first loss of the season.

Veterans Transportation awarded 2016 Ford van
Mineral County Veterans Transportation members now have a new van, thanks to the Veterans Administration in Helena. They awarded the Mineral County group with a 2016 Ford Flex to replace their aging vehicle, which sustained $3,000 worth of damage in an accident last year.

Epic snowstorm coats Mineral County over Christmas holiday
It was not just your imagination if you think the snow over Christmas was an epic event. Meteorologist Bob Nestor with the National Weather Service office in Missoula reported that Missoula had 13 inches of snow on the ground over a 36 hour period.
Louisiana man died in one-car crash on Montana 200
A 58-year-old Louisiana man died in a one-car accident on Montana 200 at mile marker 80 on Friday, Dec. 23, at 9:28 p.m., the Montana Highway Patrol reported.

Car accident near Tarkio results in driver's death
A teenage girl died a single-vehicle car accident on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 3:10 a.m. Kailyne Thola, an 18-year-old Hamilton girl was killed when her 1999 Ford Explorer crashed near Tarkio at mile marker 62. An unidentified 18-year-old male from Superior was taken to St. Patrick Hospital.
