Meet the candidates for state legislature: Gordon Hendrick
Back in 1988, Gordon Hendrick achieved official citizenship. Even though he has spent most of his life in the United States, he had one reason for obtaining citizenship and that was so he could help the state of Montana. Immediately after becoming a citizen, he was a town councilman and then served as mayor for twelve years. For the last five years, he is now on his sixth, has served in the state legislature for House District 14. Back in August of 2008, Hendrick had said that he would end his time with the state legislative, but has now decided that with the economy in the state that he is in, his experience will be essential for the coming term.
"Music for Moms," held in Thompson Falls
THOMPSON FALLS - The Cancer Network of Sanders County (CNSC) held an evening concert for Mother’s Day in the Rex Theater, Saturday night. Titled, “Music for Moms,” the evening consisted of door prizes, music from different musical groups and a solo artist. The funds raised at the door all went into the CNSC’s account for giving gifts to individuals in Sanders County that are in need of financial support during their battle against cancer.
Local throwers go long at Top 8 meet
The “Top 10” and “Top 8” high school track competitions for this part of Montana featured athletes from most of the Class AA and A schools in Western Montana, with some solid showings from local (Sanders-Mineral) tracksters sprinkled among the results.
