Relay For Life kicks off in a flash
SANDERS COUNTY - Community members hit the hardwood for Sanders County Relay For Life kickoff festivities in January and February. For the second year, Relay volunteers and community members performed a flash mob dance at local basketball games to raise awareness of this year’s event, scheduled for Aug. 1-2 at Thompson Falls High School. Participants were able to sign up for half off as part of kickoff.

According to Superior Bobcat football Head Coach Allan Labbe, Friday’s home game against Seeley-Swan showed a lot of room for improvement in his squad.

Gardening is much like most of life. Lawyers and realtors write, “time is of the essence” in contracts, meaning that the participants in the contract need to hurry up because “Time is money.” Many say, “no time like the present” and I would agree with that, unless the weather is so unbearably hot that outdoor and garden chores need to wait until early morning and late at night. Which hot weather makes it somewhat impossible to do things “in a timely manner.”

Lots of coaching, encouragement and cheering could be heard from the sidelines on Saturday as St. Regis teams played Superior teams in soccer.

Panthers return to football field
Football practice got underway for the teams across Mineral County last week. In Alberton, thirteen kids hit the field that will play for the Alberton Panthers this season. Coach Jake Giffin said that while the number of kids is good, he said it is lower.
Regis golfers ready for state
St. Regis hosted golf teams from around the area on Thursday at Trestle Creek. Although there weren't enough numbers playing for a girls' team, the boys were on the board with 508 for the day. On the girls' side, however, Jocelyn Dockter and Shelby Berg were once again up in the top ten for individual scores. Dockter took fifth with a score of 112 and Berg took tenth with 129.

14 advance to state
Fourteen Sanders County wrestlers will advance to the State Tournament next weekend in Hamilton after impressive showings at the Divisional meet last weekend in Arlee.
