Master Gardener classes to start
Master Gardener courses have been rotated annually since 1996 between Noxon, Thompson Falls, Plains and last year in Hot Springs. During that period, over 250 people have attended all or part of the program. In 2009, MSU State Horticulturist, Toby Day reorganized the Montana Master Gardener program into three levels with level 1 similar to the curriculum taught for many years in counties across the state. Level 2 is more in-depth and level 3, an on-campus intensive 3 day short course offered in Bozeman this coming summer (2011).

Hot Springs hosts National Geographic Bee
The Hot Springs School held its annual National Geographic Bee for the fourth through eight graders Jan. 26. Eighth-grader Jesse Uski, a returning geography bee champion, took first place, with fourth-grader Weston Slonaker coming in second and sixth-grader Sydney Viegut winning third place. Each class held its own competition and the top two contestants went on compete in the school-wide bee.

Plains graduate receives high honors

The award is named in the honor and legacy of General of the Army George C. Marshall, who served in World War II as the Army Chief of Staff and in the post-war era served as secretary of state and secretary of defense.

Trout Creek Altacare program receives award
Here is some exciting information about Altacare at Trout Creek School. Trout Creek School Altacare Program was awarded the North Western Program of the Year from Altacare/Acadia of Montana. This was a great honor as Trout Creek School is one of the smallest schools in the state with Altacare. The entire student body will celebrate with a Root beer Float Party during an awards ceremony next week.
