Blues fest rocks and rolls
HOT SPRINGS – The smooth sounds of the lower reaches of the Mississippi echoed around Hot Springs over the weekend as several talented blues outfits rolled through town.

Quilt show a success
The multipurpose room and the hallways of Superior High School were draped with beautiful pieces of arts. Quilts of all colors, patterns, shapes and designs were hung throughout the school for the Cabin Fever Quilter's Show entitled "A Century of Growth," to commemorate the Fire of 1910.

Creagh spoke to students during the day and decided to stay to deliver a message to parents.

Courage is a virtue that we Americans value in our culture. An act of courage transcends ideology, it is a personal characteristic that belongs to the individual or group and to call it bravery without thought of personal consequences is as good a definition as any. We award medals for it.
Booby Boutique Relay for Life Fundraiser
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life for Mineral County will take place at the Superior High School track on Friday July 9, 2010. Eighteen relay teams throughout the county are working on fundraising projects to help fight cancer through awareness and donations. One of the new teams this year, Moonwalkers for the Cure, is working on an unusual event that should be fun and benefiting for all who attend. The Moonwalkers are hosting a "Booby Boutique" at the 4-H Building on Friday, May 7 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 8 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Community picnic brings people out to fairgrounds
PLAINS – The community picnic at the Sanders County Fairgrounds in Plains was not as well attended as organizers were hoping but according to coordinator Ken Jones, those who did come out had a good time. The picnic included elements of the farmers market, horseback rides for the kids, a watermelon eating contest and games.
