Good results at Owen Invitational wrestling tourney
A pair of seniors led the way for the Superior Bobcats wrestling team while Thompson Falls scored the area’s lone weight class championship during action at this past weekend’s Owen Invitational Wrestling tournament in Polson.
Little Guy Wrestling mixer held in Plains
On Thursday, March 9, the Little Guy Wrestling mixer was held in the Plains High School gym. Junior high students from several western Montana schools (Plains, Hot Springs, Ronan, Libby, and Superior) were involved in wrestling matches on two mats. Each individual round of the match lasted one minute, 30 seconds with an “unofficial” score being kept on the time clocks at the opposite ends of the gym. Parents, coaches, friends, and other wrestlers were on hand to cheer, give support, and provide helpful suggestions to the wrestlers before, during, and after they had wrestled.
4-H'ers prepare for Mineral County Fair shows
The Mineral County Fair is the highlight of the 4-H year. The 2022 theme "Fun Galore in the 54" invites all ages to join in the festivities Aug. 4-6, at the Mineral County Fairgrounds in Superior.

Despite taking only four wrestlers, Thompson Falls/Noxon finished in eighth place at the 12-school annual Bob Kinney Classic held Saturday in Superior.
Two Superior wrestlers headed to state tourney
This past weekend, the Superior Bobcat wrestling team traveled to Florence for the Class BC Western Divisional tournament. After it was all said and done, two Superior wrestlers advanced to the state tournament in Billings this weekend. Bridger LaPierre had a great tournament and finished it off with a first place finish in the 160 weight class by pinning his opponent from Bigfork. Jack Mitchell will also be headed to Billings thanks to a fourth place finish in the 120 weight class. He was defeated by Cole Gilleard of Mission/Charlo for third place.
