We Care event a success

Folks from all over Mineral County came together to take part in the We Care Festival in Superior, which was held on Saturday, Oct. 16. The gathering took place in front of the historic school building in the heart of Superior, and featured several different exhibits, activities for kids and live music courtesy of the Zylawy brothers. The event was intended as a fundraiser for the newly created We Care organization.

Last Thursday, Earth Day, was a bit more cold and breezy than the days leading up to it had been, but that didn't stop Alberton students from leaving the classrooms to pursue the day's clean-up project. Dawning warm sweaters and jackets, they slipped on gloves and toted trash bags as they went around the community picking up trash.

The Lady Bobcats had slow games on the volleyball courts last week, but the games moved at a fast pace. They played Mission on Tuesday at home and then traveled to Florence on Saturday, losing both games in three sets.

TROUT CREEK- The Noxon Reservoir was the site of the annual Tri-State Bass Tournament held in Trout Creek over the weekend. Anglers from Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Montana converged on the reservoir beginning on Saturday to try their luck at catching small and large-mouth bass.
