Local track and field athletes make good showing at Districts and many head to state tournament
In high school track and field, teams finished up Districts and are now getting ready for State, which will be held in Great Falls on May 24-26. In Western District the top 10 ranking athletes include several Mineral County athletes.

Missoula, particularly the gym at Valley Christian High, was not a great place for a Red Devil to be this past Saturday.
Mineral County auto auction slated for Saturday
On Saturday, March 5 at 11 a.m. on the Mineral County Courthouse steps, there will be an auction of six vehicles, four of which are former patrol vehicles that were used until the new patrol units were purchased and placed into service last year.
Alberton hoopers showing improvement

Plains Public Library hosts free crafts day
On Wednesday, Feb. 15 the Plains Public Library held a free crafts event that was open to adults and children from 4:30 to 5 p.m. There were six children and one adult working on creating a Beaded Heart Shaped Keychain, a bracelet, or a small box to hold toy cars.

Mineral County Community Foundation gives scholarships
Three graduating seniors from Mineral County high schools have been chosen to receive college scholarships. To qualify a graduate must submit an application which is reviewed by the MCCF Board. Selections are made based on five factors; (1) community service, (2) leadership qualities, (3) scholastic achievement, (4) extracurricular activities and (5) overall character.
