An update from Rep. Ingraham
The State Administration & Veterans Affairs Committee (SAVA) will be meeting on Wednesday, April 9th in room 172 of the Capitol Building beginning at 10:00 a.m. for those of you interested in following the work of the committee, especially in regards to their work on elections and the Office of the Commissioner of Political Practices. This is, once again, an opportunity for you, the public, to listen in as proceedings are unfolding or personally attend the meeting for those who are able.

Lady Hawks and Trotters face off
The Plains High School softball team got off to a solid start on Tuesday against the Lady Hawks of Thompson Falls winning the season opener 15 to zero.
Superior Ranger District prescribed burning Spring 2013
The Superior Ranger District has numerous prescribed burns planned for the spring of 2013. The burn units range in size from single harvest units to large wildlife burns. Some, but not all, of the scheduled burns will be implemented this year. The exact timing and execution of individual burns is dependent on factors such as weather, fuel moisture, staffing, airshed restrictions, and budget.

Clark Fork teams win tournament at Trestle Creek
The Clark Fork Mountain Cats won for both the boys’ and girls’ divisions at the St. Regis Golf Tournament at Trestle Creek on Thursday, May 2, where they qualified four players for state. The boys’ team won with 304, and the girls won with 392. Aaron Waddle, Danner Haskins, Jonna Warnken and Zoe Kelsey qualified for the State C Tournament in Seeley Lake. “We could be very competitive at the State C level in two years with both boys’ and girls’ teams if the kids continue to work hard,” Clark Fork coach Seth Kuhl said. Both from Thompson Falls, Ethan Brown won for the boys’ title with an 85, and Megan Baxter won for the girls with 106. Clark Fork’s Danner Haskins placed third with 97, and Aaron Waddle placed fifth with 103. St. Regis Tiger JD Booker scored 135. The tournament wrapped up the regular season and the State C Tournament is May 13-15 at the Double Arrow Golf Course in Seeley Lake.

Margaret French
Margaret Rose French died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 90 on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018. She was born in Dillon, Mont., on Aug. 11, 1928, the daughter of John and Ellen Laden. Margaret was the youngest of six children.
