For some time we have been hearing, reading and talking Global Warming. The buzz is Green, which don't get me wrong, is great. We should have been looking for new ways a long time ago. I have been thinking — is it all about the smoke, aerosols, plastics, etc. or can it be something else?

Cutting down a Christmas tree can be a festive outing for families to begin the holiday season. With the “Every Kid in a Park” Forest Service Program, Mineral County fourth-grade students can get a free permit for their family to harvest a tree.

Plains Police Department alongside the Sanders County Sheriff’s Office successfully executed a misdemeanor warrant arrest in Plains on Saturday.

Roads open for firewood cutting

The Superior Ranger District will be opening some areas to firewood cutting that are presently behind closed gates. These roads have not been bladed recently and may contain rocks or other hazards. The date of opening for roads listed below will be May 14th, except for the Borax area roads which will be approximately June 1st depending on snow. These areas are as follows:

CF volleyball team raises awareness, funds

During the Clark Fork varsity volleyball match on Monday, Oct. 8, the Lady Mountain Cats presented Mary Jo Lommen a check. They were dressed in pink T-shirts with “We Play 4 Judi” inked on the front. The check was for Judi Haskins and her family to help with medical expenses from her recent diagnosis of breast cancer.

Four county athletes bring home some medal from state track

Class C State Track and Field took place on May 26 and 27 at the Laurel Sports Complex near Billings. Six Mineral County athletes traveled the 770 mile round trip to compete against over 30 other schools. Four students came home with some medal including Clark Fork’s Emma Duboise who pole vaulted her way to second place and tied with Maddy Thompson from Fort Benton with a jump of 9-0.
