PLAINS - Home Start Preschool students were tickled pink with meeting Dave Williams’ two female 3-month-old piglets Friday afternoon as part of a school field trip.

Local blood saves lives
Mark Sheets of Thompson Falls knows how donated blood saves lives. At age 16, a roof collapsed on top of him and among his many injuries, his femoral artery was severed. He would have died if not for receiving up to 5 pints of donated, matching blood following the accident. Sheets has been donating his own blood to American Red Cross ever since.

Missoula County District Court Judge Dusty Deschamps sentenced New Jersey truck driver Sergey Buslayev Wednesday morning to 10 years in Montana State Prison for negligent homicide. Buslayey, 57, lost control of a FedEx tractor-trailer combination driving towards an accident scene on Interstate 90 in 2008, killing a volunteer firefighter.

I left from Superior Saturday morning on an old blue and white bus and bounced down the frontage road towards Cyr for a daylong raft trip on the Clark Fork River with Western Waters.
