MINERAL COUNTY – As graduation ceremonies in Mineral County wrapped up last week, several students took to their respective podiums to deliver messages of inspiration, celebration of education and hope for the future.

MINERAL COUNTY – According to information provided by officials at the Superior Ranger Station, the National Significant Wildland Fire Potential Outlook from Predictive Services at the National Interagency Fire Center indicate above normal conditions in June, July, August and September for fire potential.

Markkaya Jean (Bugsy) McGann Gullett of Superior became our “angel in heaven” on May 22, 2015 as a result of a car accident. She was born May 14, 1992. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Plains Bible Chapel, 243 Combest Creek Rd, Plains, MT , with Potluck meal afterward (turn left past the fairgrounds).

SUPERIOR - Lila Rae Gullette, 72 of Superior, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015, in Missoula. Lila was born in Hamilton to Lewis and Inez Leavens on September 23, 1942, the seventh of 12 children.

ALBERTON – A Superior woman was killed on Friday, May 22 near Alberton after she apparently lost control of her Ford Explorer SUV on Interstate 90. The accident occurred Friday afternoon around 5 p.m.

Obituary; Ellen Haskins Trujillo
Ellen Haskins Trujillo, 68, peacefully ascended into heaven on May 11, 2015. She was born Ellen Carol Hankinson on June 23, 1946 in Missoula, Montana. She attended and graduated high school in Superior, Montana. She later went on to obtain her Law Degree from the School of Law at the University of Montana. After graduating from college in Missoula, Ellen moved to Walsenburg, Colorado where she established her law practice. Though Ellen had no biological children of her own, she dedicated part of her career to helping many children as a Guardian Ad Litem.
