Shannon Renae McBee, 44, died Monday, April 2 in a car accident. Shannon was born in Missoula on Sept. 2, 1973.

Charlene Eitelberg
Charlene (Sherry) Eitelberg of Plains Montana passed away peacefully August 27th 2015 at home with family by her side. Sherry was born in Missoula Montana September 9th 1947 to Les and Arlene Sanders. She married Terry Eitelberg April 18th 1967 from which union came two children James and Jason.

Balenger sentenced for illegal elk possession
On Wednesday, May 19, Mineral County James Balenger appeared in court to receive sentencing for the charge of illegal possession of an elk. According to Bev Smith, Missoula County Justice Court Clerk, Balenger was ordered to pay a fine of $535.00 and has lost his hunting, fishing and trapping privileges for twelve months. Balenger was also ordered to forfeit the elk mount and to turn it over to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

Drug dealers sentenced after Mineral County arrests
Defendants from two separate drugs busts which occurred in Mineral County were sentenced by the U.S. District Courts earlier this month. Hector Ricardo Gonzales, 30, from Kennewick, Washington was arrested on January 20 along with codefendant, Christian Jesus Ruiz, for 20 pounds of methamphetamine after being pulled over by sheriff’s deputies. On Oct. 12 in Helena, U.S. District Court Judge Sam Haddon sentenced Hector to 260 months in prison with five years supervision after his release.

Approximately 20,352 tons, consisting of mixed conifer sawlogs, are offered for sale. Sealed bids will be opened at the Department of Natural Resources & Conservation, 2705 Spurgin Road, Missoula, Montana on April 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Bids may be hand delivered or mailed and will be accepted any time prior to the bid opening. DNRC recommends that bidders contact the Trust Land Management Division (406-542-4300) prior to the bid opening to ensure that your bid has been received. Bids must be accompanied by a deposit of $12,089.00, representing 5% of the minimum bid value of the sale in cashier's check, certified check, bank money order or bank draft to be applied to the first sale invoice for the successful bidder. Bid bonds will be accepted and, for the successful bidder, will be closed upon execution of the Timber Sale Contract and Timber Sale Bond. The sale will be awarded to the highest responsible bidder. If the successful bidder is unable to execute the contract within 30 calendar days from the date the sale is awarded, the bid deposit will be retained by the Department as liquidated damages.
