Cabbage patch kids raise vegetables in Plains
According to the United States Department of Agriculture, 2.4 billion pounds of cabbage were produced in the U.S. in 2005. This year, 33 pounds of that number will belong to 10-year-old Sophia Brown, Plains’ winner of the Bonnie Plant Farm 3rd Grade Cabbage Program.

A Kootenai County judge sent five members of the white nationalist group Patriot Front to jail Friday and banned them from the city's downtown area for a year, following their conviction for conspiracy to riot, a misdemeanor.

Fred Allen Pearson, 86, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, in Billings, Mont. He was born April 25, 1921, in Casselton, N.D., to Fred O. and Marie Helland Pearson. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945.
