Students talk to lawmakers about underage drinking
A week of exciting, fun activities is at hand for the community of Superior. Several activities including a kids' camp, nightly barbecue, a pig roast and a special musical presentation have been planned for the week of August 1 through August 5. Superior Community Church along with a team of youth and their leaders of Christ Church of Federal Way will be presenting these events and working throughout the week to bless the local community.

Theatre visits Trout Creek
Put together in just four days, an entire, hour-long musical was put on in the gymnasium of the Trout Creek school, Friday night. The Missoula Children’s Theater led the school in the production of, “Blackbeard the Pirate,” an adaptation of the children’s story. Auditions for parts were held Tuesday, and by Friday night parents and residents were given the treat of a complete, full length theater production.

Semi-truck accident contained
Both the West End Volunteer Fire Department and St. Regis Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene of a semi-truck accident on Interstate 90 on the evening of Monday, Feb. 26. West End Volunteers were able to safely extract the driver of the semi-truck from his vehicle before a tow truck crew went to work removing it. The accident happened near mile marker 15.

Ford gets new dealership in Plains
Country Ford-Mercury in Plains has been selling cars for a long time, but now, after two-and-a-half decades, the car dealership has finally outgrown their current location on East Railroad Street and moved last Thursday to their new spot, about a mile from Plains toward Thompson Falls.

Deputy slides down embankment
Sanders County Deputy Steven Spurr, slid his sport utility vehicle sideways over the steep edge of an embankment on Buffalo Bill Road off of Highway 200 outside of Plains on Thursday evening at about 5:05 p.m.
Bison Stampede race results
Dixon School District held the 2023 Bison Stampede Saturday April 22nd. All proceeds from the event went towards campus improvements with the goal of this year to upgrade parking and outdoor learning spaces.

Fire crews train for car accident extrication
The Valley Towing wrecking yard was full of fire trucks, men using the Jaws of Life and tearing apart cars Saturday, but not because anyone was in danger. More than 20 firefighters from the Plains Fire Department and the Plains-Paradise Rural Fire District practiced extrication for car accident situations under the guidance of Craig Jeppson from the Fire Services Training School.
