While it may be true that - and lawful for - a tribal member of the CSKT Corporation to serve as a Legislator in Montana, it is NOT true that the privilege of being a “Tribal Council Person” confers governmental authority or power over any NON-tribal matters, or NON-tribal lands or other resources. That is plain, simple logic.

Though its technically a day early for “bear” season in Montana, the St. Regis Community Park will turn into hunting grounds on Saturday, Sept. 14, for what hopes to become an annual event called the SeptemBear Hunt.

Alongside Quartz Creek Road at the Tarkio exit, a small table covered by a white canopy was set up next to a refrigerated truck. A sign with purple and pink letters reads, “Mushroom Buyer Jessica.” Jessica Cruz, along with her sons Timo, 16, and Lucas, 11, and her Asian partner simply referred to as “Q,” sit in lawn chairs - waiting for pickers to show up with baskets full of morel mushrooms.

Realignments and rule changes announced by Montana High School Association
The Montana High School Association’s Executive Boards recently announced a number of realignment and rules changes for winter and spring sports. There was also a major adjustment to each classification’s enrollment guidelines. Several schools from Classes A, B and C will reclassify their sports programs for the next school year, while Class AA in currently unaffected by the changes.
