E-cigarettes banned in public places in the county
Electronic cigarette users will no longer be able to “vape” in public facilities after Mineral County commissioners passed a motion to add them to the county-wide Clean Indoor Air Act at a public meeting on Friday, June 7.

Report from week three: Bills are starting to work their way through
This week saw the hustle and bustle the Legislature is known for. The bills are now coming out of committees and on to the floor in greater numbers. The Senate has also passed enough bills across the floor that they are even showing up in House committees and vice versa.

This is the fourth year in a row that the Town Rocker Town Pump/Flying J has received this designation. The Town Pump/Pilot Travel Plaza in Lolo, Montana also received the Diamond Dealer Award. This was the first year the Lolo location received the award.

The Mineral County Medical Foundation hosted their 35th Annual Golf Tournament at the Trestle Creek Golf Course on Sept. 30. There were 11 teams that participated in the Foundation’s largest fundraiser, with players from Mineral County and Missoula.
Choices Counseling now state approved
Choices for Change Counseling (Nancy M. Smith) has been certified as a State Approved Agency by DPHHS, Addictive and Mental Disorders Division. Choices has also been designated by the Mineral County Commissioners to receive 100 percent of the Mineral County earmarked alcohol tax monies for the provision of chemical dependency treatment and prevention services in accordance with MCA 53-24-206.

Routine traffic stop results in meth bust
A routine traffic stop ended in a drug bust on I-90 on Jan. 23. Mineral County Sheriff Tom Bauer said Sergeant A.J. Allard and Deputy Eric McMurray pulled over a vehicle for speeding near DeBorgia on Monday night. Two men were in the vehicle and there were reportedly indications of drug trafficking.
