The Plains-Hot Springs softball team’s quest to clinch a Class B-C state title bid fell one run short when they lost to Loyola Sacred Heart 12-11 at the Class B-C Western softball Divisional tournament Friday and Saturday at Libby High School.

On Jan. 11 the St. Regis Tigers faced Hot Springs where the lady’s put a check mark in the “win” box, 50-28. The Tigers came out on top in the first half putting 26 points on the board to the Lady Savage Heats’ 10 points. Though the Heat managed to tighten the gap in the third and fourth quarter with 18 points it wasn’t enough to overcome the Tigers additional 24 second half points for the win.

PLAINS – The town of Plains ballooned in population as the Sanders County Fair hit the area in full swing. The usually peaceful streets saw an increase of traffic as this year’s fair-goers headed to ride carnival rides, eat fair food and take part in the events scheduled.
