A citizen legislator's first year

One year ago I packed up my truck and left this beautiful, rugged part of Montana to spend sixteen weeks in the crowded city of Helena. Not to seek a better life for myself, nor a higher income, nor fame or glory. I went to serve my fellow man as a citizen legislator, not a politician.

MCSO to begin school resource officer program

In the past, several deputies with the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office have tried to start a School Resource Officer program, however with limited staff and funding it was a challenge to have an officer working solely with the three schools in Mineral County.

Doris Marie (Sorenson) Marjerison (64) of Stevensville passed away on March 31st after living her life with cancer for the last 13 years. She was born on May 20, 1949 in Dillon, Montana, the daughter of Elmer and Thelma Sorenson. Doris was raised in Dillon, Twin Bridges and Butte, Montana, and Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated from Butte High in 1967 and earned her associate degree in Business in 1994.

There’s been a lot of activity at the Flat Creek Iron Mountain Mine located four miles northeast of Superior. It became a Superfund site in 2002 and the final cleanup phases are currently taking place.
