Ariel Marie Jordan was born Dec. 18, 2017 at Clark Fork Valley Hospital. She was 5 pounds, 14 ounces and 20.5 inches long.
West Mullan Fire 1
The West Mullan Fire began Sunday at approximately 5:00 pm and quickly grew to over 300 acres. Currently the wildifre is at 1,800 acres and Forest Service crews are fighting the blaze around the clock.
Community Notes
There will be a forum for candidates running for the Mineral Community Hospital Board. Four current board members are up for re-election and all positions are contested. It will be held on Wednesday, April 18 in the multipurpose room at the Superior High School. The time has not been announced yet.
Rodeo fun is highlight of Mineral County Fair
The Superior Lions Club returned for two nights of action during the Mineral County Fair on Aug. 4 and 5 with the “Go For the Gold Rodeo.”

Flu season just around the corner
The Mineral County Health Department warns that it’s the start of flu season again, which begins in October and November. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), there were an estimated 7,935 cases of influenza in Montana last year with 16 reported in Mineral County. The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. Illness can range from mild to severe, and serious outcomes of flu infection can result in hospitalization or even death.

Chimney fire in Paradise
At 9:15 a.m. on Friday, January 25, Plains Rural Fire Department was dispatched to a home on Tie Plant Road in Paradise for a chimney fire. The ambulance was called for 5 minutes later. Check back for more updates.
