Computer crash delays 12-team Bob Kinney Classic in Superior

The annual Bob Kinney Classic wrestling tournament held in Superior came to an abrupt halt Saturday morning when the tournament program crashed. That left event representatives scrambling to get the teams back on the mats. The program, Trackwrestling, is used nationally and is an event management system for tournaments.

On Sept. 9 the St. Regis six-man football team traveled to White Sulphur Springs for their season opener, only to be defeated 56-13. White Sulphur Springs came out strong in the first quarter and put 44 points on the board. St. Regis was unable to get the ball into the end zone until the fourth. The Tigers suffered from a late start this season due to lack of participation. They were able to pull together seven players a few weeks ago. Head Coach Jesse Allan said the team has had some light practices and some in the gym last week due to hazardous air-quality conditions.

Students talk to lawmakers about underage drinking

A week of exciting, fun activities is at hand for the community of Superior. Several activities including a kids' camp, nightly barbecue, a pig roast and a special musical presentation have been planned for the week of August 1 through August 5. Superior Community Church along with a team of youth and their leaders of Christ Church of Federal Way will be presenting these events and working throughout the week to bless the local community.

PLAINS – Cody James Albano was born on July 3, 2014 at 5:48 a.m. at Clark Fork Valley Hospital He weighed 8 pounds and ½ an ounce and was 21 inches long. Parents are Tasha and Seth Albano of Thompson Falls. Maternal grandparents are Robert and Lisa Young of Thompson Falls. Paternal grandparents are Doug and Laura Albano of Thompson Falls.

Members of the Superior Rod and Gun Club, including A.P. Johnshon, William Fletcher, Sam Bouchard, Anton Tamietti, Berna McCartney, "Long Harry" Echardt and Paul Guimont, watch one of the elk transported from Yellowstone to what is now the Sloway area of Superior. The elk arrived in Mineral County on March 5, 1913, with the club providing $25 for transportation.
