The older I get, I realize the less I understand. The constellations leave me awestruck, my smartphone’s features baffle me. Perhaps, though, the one thing that I have the most difficulty understanding is the lack of basic human decency and compassion, the sheer dismissive attitude to a living breathing thing; callous enough, heartless enough to leave a tiny dog injured, bleeding, struggling for breath along the side of the road and simply walk away.

SANDERS COUNTY – One of the fifteen counties made privy to disaster relief funding, Sanders County has already initiated the process of receiving federal funds to assist in cleanup and recovery efforts.

Fire danger lowered after heavy rain

MINERAL COUNTY – After days of heavy rains in Mineral County, the fire danger in the area was reduced to high on Saturday, Aug. 23, by the Forest Service and the Stage 1 fire restrictions were lifted allowing people to once again have campfires.

Several wrecks plague I-90 so far this year

It has been a busy year so far for area emergency crews with several wrecks along Interstate 90. They include a morning semi-truck crash on New Year’s Day. The incident blocked one lane of traffic near Mile Marker 28 just 16 miles east of Haugan until 1:30 p.m. A semi-truck carrying kegs, bottles and cans of beer was traveling too fast for the icy conditions and jack-knifed. It went off the interstate and tipped over at approximately 10 a.m.

The game of pool is usually played with a stick and on a table with six pockets. Eight balls, striped and solid are usually placed in the middle and the first shooter must break the ball rack apart. However, on Friday, June 25, the pool game at community game night was a little different.
