Little Dribblers wrap up season with final games

The Little Dribblers — Future of Thompson Falls Basketball — wrapped up their season last Tuesday with two final games. The third- and fourth-graders’ two and a half week season came to a close as yellow (Iowa Hawkeyes) beat black (Cincinnati Bearcats) and blue (Kansas Jayhawks) beat red (Indiana Hoosiers).

The Mineral Community Hospital Health Fair will be held on Saturday May 20th in the Superior Elementary School Gymnasium. A full schedule of events will be posted on the Mineral Community Hospital Community Calendar at http://www.mineralcommunityhospital.org in May. Events will include discounted lab draws, and there will be a strong focus on the reason it’s important for everyone to have a primary health care provider, said the event coordinator, Monte Turner

Need for healthcare workers continues to grow in area

For several years Mineral County high school students have been able to spend a day at Mineral Community Hospital to explore careers in health care. Working with the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and Research and Explore Awesome Careers in Healthcare, or REACH, students can explore a number of careers. Including lab work; X-rays; CT or computed tomography scanning; dentistry; public health; nursing; and emergency medical training.

Facts about HB 2

This past Tuesday, the Montana House of Representatives passed House Bill 2, which will eventually serve as the state’s budget for the next two years. Creation of a balanced budget is the one constitutional duty of the Legislature and it is a responsibility my Republican colleagues and I take very seriously.
