CNSC readies fundraiser

Cancer Network of Sanders County is gearing up for their 13th Annual Fall Fundraiser.  This year we are holding a “Brats, Hops & Grapes” event, October 4, 2014 from 5:30 – 9:00 pm at the Sanders County Fairgounds Pavilion.  Tickets are available for $30/person and can be  purchased at Garden Gift & Floral in Plains, D & D Liquor in Thomson Falls, or by calling 826-4278.  This year we will have a Silent Auction and a Live Auction featuring Mr. Kevin Hill as our auctioneer.  The live auction will include Griz/Cat Football Tickets, Griz/Cat Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tickets, an Adirondack Chair and a Garden Bench just to mention a few of the items we have!   There will also be live music provided by Troy Big Medicine DeRoche, an internationally known Native American flute player and composer.  He also hand-makes his own instruments.

NOXON - Residents of Noxon gathered at the park on the banks of the Clark Fork River for the annual pit barbecue feast of seasoned pork and beef accompanied by live music and other entertainment. The chefs in charge of the food said the meat had been cooking since midnight the previous day.

Responding to the severe strain on the state’s food banks during the coronavirus pandemic, the Town Pump Charitable Foundation is providing $1 million in immediate grants to its food bank partners, including Community Food Bank of Mineral County and Community Food Pantry.

The Wells Fargo Bank in Superior will be closing its doors this summer, according to a letter customers received on May 7. Customers were told they could transfer their accounts to Missoula Wells Fargo Banks, but for many Superior customers the 60 mile drive to Missoula is an inconvenience and many said they will transfer their accounts to the town’s remaining bank, TrailWest.

Whitefish Credit Union pledges donation funds to food banks

For the third year running, Whitefish Credit Union, Montana’s largest credit union, has pledged to donate one dollar to local food banks in need for every pound of food collected by their branches during their annual “Cash and Cans Food Drive.” The food drive begins Jan. 7 and continues until Feb. 4 at all six Credit Union branches.
