A nice, quiet candidate

Quietly going about his campaign, Tom Rummel has not resorted to mudslinging.  He is doing everything you expect of a competent and good candidate for sheriff.  He is a mature and wise candidate.  He’s been around for half a century, and his time in the Sheriff Department has given him the experience to be Sheriff. He has a warm and loving family. If you were fortunate enough to see the picture in the paper of Tom sawing down the monstrous tree you know he is brave and thoughtful and attests to the fact that in all the years he worked in the woods he never had a serious accident. He is a straight arrow and won’t play favorites. My family and many friends and I support Tom Rummel for sheriff.

According to the Montana Office of Public Instruction Web site, out of 17 schools tested, only four failed to meet adequate yearly progress (AYP) scores for the 2007-2008 school year.

The Kids will be all right: Two key school administrators to retire in June

For Allan Labbe it’s just a typical day at Superior High School as he guzzles a cup of coffee and hustles down the hall to teach his algebra class. But a “typical day” for Labbe will soon change because he will retire as the high school principal at the end of this school year.

4-H members win big at Kalispell show

On September 12th five Sanders County 4-H Horse Project members began 3 days of intense competition in the Montana State 4-H Horse Show held at the Majestic Arena in Kalispell.  105 top winning 4-H riders from 23 counties from across Montana traveled to Kalispell for this highly competitive event.   This is the second consecutive year the event has been held in Kalispell.  Four of our county riders, Mahala Sweet, Marsada Sweet, Tanner Ovitt and Dariyan Sheehan are returning competitors from last year’s event.  As a new comer, Gabriella Pallister and her horse Whisper had lots of help from the more experienced (one year under their belt) members.  Stabling is provided on site.  Michele McGuigan, a Sanders County 4-H horse Leader and member of the State Horse Committee, provided transportation for some of the members and horses along will helpful assistance with show preparation.

Golf teams getting into the swing of things

The snow on the ground, frigid temperatures and cutting wind couldn't stop the Superior and St. Regis golf teams from breaking out their clubs last week, but as the golfers try to shake off the rust and adjust their swings from the long winter layoff, they will also have to adjust to having new coaches when their season starts.

It’s hard to talk about honeybees and not discuss two major topics, one is the health benefits of honey and the other is Colony Collapse Disorder and the fears surrounding the disappearance of the bees.
