The Plains Piranhas had quite a showing at the Divisional Swim Meet in Conrad this past weekend. The team took nine swimmers to divisionals and seven were able to qualify for the State Swim Meet in Fort Benton this weekend. On top of that the team placed third out of 11 teams.

Tricon mill sold to Idaho Forest Group
The Idaho Forest Group, one of the nation’s largest lumber producers has entered into a binding contract with Tricon Timber’s sawmill in St. Regis, one of Mineral County’s largest employers.

St. Regis/Mullan team enjoys success
The St. Regis/Mullan co-op football regular season ended in second place in the White Pine League and fourth overall in their eight-team division. Both junior Ian Farris and freshman Adam Ball were All-League selections, and Farris may possibly receive All-State, said head football coach Jesse Allan. All-State award winners will be announced on Dec. 3. Farris was also in line for Most Valuable Player, and came in second to the team’s quarterback.
Community assessment spotlights problems, possible solutions
The 2016 Community Assessment report for Mineral County is now available for public viewing to be used by residents and officials alike. The information will be used for Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Response (CASPER). It will provide household-level information and helps to assess the effect if a disaster were to hit the area. The information is also used to assess the health and basic needs of Mineral County.
