The Montana Department of Transportation is rehabilitating I-90 between St. Regis and Superior. The project begins 1 1/2 miles east of St. Regis and ends approximately five miles west of Superior near the Dry Creek Road Interchange (Exit 43).

Diana Lynn Loseth, 53 passed away unexpectedly on September 8th, 2014 in Plains, MT. She was born on December 19th, 1960 to Anita and David Loseth in Petersburg, Ak. Five minutes after being born her twin sister Deborah (Fisher) Loseth followed.

The first by Kathleen Hassan of Trout Creek was right on and I could add hundreds of more examples of where common sense has died and been replaced by “non-common sensible” comments as were made by John F. FWP advises to leave young animals alone

As spring turns to summer, Montana Fish, Wildlife, & Parks (FWP) receives a large number of calls regarding deer fawns and other young wildlife. FWP urges the public not to pick-up deer fawns, even if they appear sick or in need of help. Often, the adult deer is close by, or will be returning to its fawn soon. Left alone, a fawn might have a chance in the wild; but once it is picked up and picks up human scent, it is more likely to be abandoned.

Clark Fork Valley Minor League Baseball postseason tournament seeds are set. The Plains Twins headed to Thompson Falls last Tuesday for the final regular season game of the year. At stake was a number one seed heading into next weekend’s tournament. Pitcher Jake Zigler held the Hawks at bay with a 13 strikeout, one hit performance for a 2-0 victory. The six team postseason tournament is hosted in St. Regis on Friday and Saturday.

Plains students help spread Christmas cheer

Students from Plains High School art classes scattered around town last week to paint a bit of Christmas cheer on local shop windows. A number of their art creations can be seen throughout the town. The week prior the local Lions Club helped hang holiday lights and decorations in town.
