PBA makes 2017 plans
The Plains Business Association (PBA) met for its annual strategic planning for 2017 last week. Approximately 20 business owners met Tuesday Jan. 24 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss what will be kept, changed, or added this year. The board retained many of its officers from last year and is looking for one member. There were three presentations during the meeting, one by Kenton Pies, one by Karen Thorson, and the third was from John Thorson.

Applicants sought for Mineral County RAC
SUPERIOR –Mineral County and Forest Service officials are soliciting applications from individuals to fill several positions on the Mineral County Resource Advisory Committee (RAC). The committee is responsible for making recommendations on projects that provide benefit to Forest Service land within Mineral County. RAC positions are unpaid but members can be reimbursed for travel. Funding and administration for Mineral County RAC projects are provided under the authority of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self Determination Act.

SUPERIOR – During their weekly meeting, the Mineral County Commissioners resolved the ownership of an abandoned trailer and got an update on getting in touch with the Regional Forester’s office.

Elks, Sheriff team up to prevent drug abuse
THOMPSON FALLS – The Thompson Falls Elks Lodge teamed up with the Sanders County Sheriff’s Office for a spaghetti dinner and update on the county’s drug enforcement and awareness.
