With temps in the 90s forest service officials have raised the Fire Danger Rating to high, meaning any fire start has a high chance of quickly becoming widespread. They have closed Outdoor Burning by Permit. All burn permits for yard debris, agriculture and wildland burning are now invalid. Campfires are still allowed in proper fire rings.

After the Gold Rush
In 1931, fifty years after a gold rush brought over 10,000 fortune seekers to the Cedar Creek area of Superior, Gus and Fern Gildersleeve began building their mine on land near the original claims. What began as Depression-era subsistence mining has blossomed into one family's legacy of mining for four generations in Superior.

SUPERIOR/ST. REGIS – The St. Regis Tigers took a hard defeat in a game for county pride against the Superior Bobcats Tuesday, January 14.

Golf tournament helps pay for local medical needs annual tournament
The Mineral County Medical Foundation hosted their 35th Annual Golf Tournament at the Trestle Creek Golf Course on Sept. 30. There were 11 teams that participated in the Foundation’s largest fundraiser, with players from Mineral County and Missoula.
