Candidate forum held at Hot Springs Senior Center
HOT SPRINGS – Hot Springs High School government class hosted a candidate forum Monday October 7 at the senior center. The forum featured mayoral candidates Randy Woods and Karen Evans and Ward II candidates Leslee Smith and Ed Persico. Dick Adams gave up his time to the candidates in contested races.
High winds cause havoc in Mineral County
ALBERTON - High winds whipped through western Montana on Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning of last week. Winds started to kick up late Tuesday evening, with reported gusts reaching up to 84 mph in some parts of western Montana.

Medicare Advantage contract still under negotiation
As the deadline for people to make a final Medicare Advantage plan coverage decision looms, local hospitals are still negotiating with Humana as a possible provider. People have until February 28 to make a decision and Monida, which does contract negotiations for a number of Montana hospitals including Mineral Community Hospital, has not reached a final deal.
