Committee plans to save pool again

Members of city council and community business owners met with the Committee for Safe Swimming on Friday, Jan. 7 to discuss plans for saving the Plains swimming pool from being closed this summer. The pool is facing problems as its filtration system is in need of replacement and could potentially fail, leaving water quality at a level unsafe for swimming.

OUTDOORS - Horseback riding proves a rough but fun ride

I have not ridden a horse in quite some time. It has probably been ten to 15 years since I awkwardly threw my leg over a saddle and put my life in the hands of an animal that is probably a little indignant about having to haul around 170 pounds of extra payload for the next three hours.

In the Spirit of Sanitation

Happy New Year! The Environmental Health staff in Sanders County are looking forward to 2008 for many reasons, number one being the Revolving Loan Fund. The state bureaucrats finally gave the county the first installment for the loan fund.
