Man wrongfully convicted of killing gets $5M settlement
A former western Montana man who was wrongfully convicted of killing his best friend in 1997 and spent 18 years in prison has reached a $5 million settlement with the state and Sanders County, a Bozeman law firm announced.

Superior woman killed in car accident
ALBERTON – A Superior woman was killed on Friday, May 22 near Alberton after she apparently lost control of her Ford Explorer SUV on Interstate 90. The accident occurred Friday afternoon around 5 p.m.

Obituary; Lanny W. Caudill
Passed away peacefully on Fri. Jan. 30, 2015 at the age of 72. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years Carmela. Loving father to David (Stacy), Bernice (David), Lanny D. (Amy). Sisters Denise and Darlene. Proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lanny will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, great friend and bright soul. Proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He will be sorely missed by all.

St. Regis athletes Hill and Cantrell-Field win big in track
Two St. Regis athletes made it into the top six slot at the 19th Annual Russ Pilcher Western Montana Top 10 track and field meet in Missoula. Top athletes from all over Montana met at the Dornblaser track on April 25 to compete. Brock Cantrell-Field broke St. Regis School’s old discus record of 142 feet, 2 inches. Cantrell-Field threw 148 feet, 4 inches and took sixth place on Tuesday.

The Thompson Falls boys’ track team excelled at both their own invitational Thursday afternoon and the Big Sky Invitational Saturday afternoon in Missoula.
