Thompson Falls boys, girls basketball teams open with big wins
Saturday evening in Troy, the girls opened their new campaign with a resounding 63-7 thumping of the Lady Trojans. Later that evening the Blue Hawks boys also won big, pounding the Troy boys 65-39.

The Clark Fork Lady Mountain Cats leapt over the Lincoln Lynx during Saturday night’s matchup taking them to first place going into 13C District playoffs next week in Missoula. They won all three sets 25-13, 25-22, 25-10 with senior Kenzie Mueller leading the pack in kills with 9 out of 26, 2 out of 3 blocks and 6 aces out of a team total of 15. Montanna Baughman led in digs with 8 out of 31 and Madison Mask had 21 out of 23 assists.

The Catholic Church in Superior will host Lenten lunches on Tuesdays until Holy Week (April 14-20). The first lunch was March 12 and then held on Tuesdays until April 9. Lunch is noon to 1 p.m. The Methodist, Assembly of God, LDS, Catholic and Community Churches will be responsible for each lunch. Donations will be accepted with proceeds supporting a local charity. Little Guys grapple in Superior tournament
Saturday, March 11 Superior High School held a Little Guy Wrestling Qualifying Tournament. Six teams were present; Plains/Hot Springs. Frenchtown, Missoula. Clark Fork, Thompson Falls, and Bonner. Weigh-ins took place and after some warm ups the wrestlers began according to their experience; Middles started wrestling at 9 a.m., Novices began wrestling at 11 a.m. The juniors would not be wrestling at this tournament, since they will be wrestling at the Inter-Valley Tournament, which will be held in Plains on Friday, March 17 at 5 p.m. and on Saturday March 18 at 9 a.m.
County detention center reopens
After months of being closed, the Mineral County Detention Center if finally back in full operation. On March 5, the center began accepting prisoners again after it was shut down in late October due to staffing issues.
Talent show wows crowd during fair
A talent show was held during the Mineral County Fair where five brave contestants wowed crowds with performances. On Saturday, Aug. 5, Gordon Henrick announced the acts. There were several age groups and first, second and third prize was awarded in each age group.
