Art on the Walls to open Thursday
Sanders County Arts Council announces the opening of the Summer Show of “Art on the Walls” at Clark Fork Valley Hospital on Thursday, June 27, 2013. The public is invited to join the artists at the Opening Reception from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the hospital lobby. Music will be provided by piano students of Heidi Mack and Sydne Connolly plus John Meckler and friends and his handcrafted instruments. Original artworks by these new and returning Sanders County Artists are featured.: Valerie Curtiss, Andrew Gonzalez, Rachel Gonzalez, Rodney Helterline, Judy Horton, Mary McClenahan, John Meckler, Sadee Miller, Kenton Pies and Lily Warrington. Mountain Cats win challenge game, bound for Western C Divisional
The Clark Fork Mountain Cats just made history by making it to the Western C Divisional Tournament in Butte as the Alberton/Superior co-op. They won their challenge game against the Seeley-Swan Blackhawks on Monday in Frenchtown, 56-44. The Cats earned third place at the 13C District Tournament, edging Victor 54-53 on Saturday. Darby won the championship game over Seeley-Swan, 65-38. Since Clark Fork and Seeley-Swan had not met in the tournament, the Cats were able to challenge for a berth in the Western C Divisional. In Monday’s win over Seeley-Swan, Bryan Mask led the Cats with 15 points, Carson Callison had 13, Aaron Waddle 12, Michael Spence 11 and Danner Haskins 5.

This year the Superior Lions Club is seeking applications for both a 2018 Junior Rodeo Princess and Rodeo Princess. The Junior Rodeo Princess will serve along with the selected Rodeo Princess and this year’s Rodeo Queen Madison Hill. The Go for the Gold Rodeo will be held during the 2018 Mineral County Fair scheduled for Aug. 3-4.

Missoula Children’s Theatre presents 'Singin' in the Rain Jr.'
The Missoula Children’s Theatre Youth Series presents a musical with such an iconic name you can almost hear the raindrops. "Singin’ in the Rain Jr." will be live on stage, Feb. 7-9 performed by a talented cast of students, from 8th -12th grade who go back in time and jump some puddles with a classic musical.

Candidate filing opens for state and local elections
Most filing for state office occurs electronically in Montana, but candidates can file in-person at the Secretary of State Office. More than 60 legislative candidates had filed as of January 13, which was the first day candidates could file.

Thompson Falls runner Will Hyatt finished eighth overall at the State B cross country meet Saturday in Missoula.
Mission falls in 8-man championship
The Belt Huskies broke out in the second half of the Class C 8-Man championship game at Mission High School to top the Mission Bulldogs 52-24 and claim their first title since 1994.
